Learning to Serve: Community Service Day

During our June 2026 Community Service Day, the boys helped provide lawn care and landscaping services for local families in need. They learned how to safely operate equipment, work together as a team, and take pride in a job well done. From mowing and trimming to planting flowers and cleaning up yards, they worked hard from start to finish.

While learning practical outdoor and landscaping skills is important, the greatest lesson of the day was understanding what it means to serve others. We talked about how even simple acts of kindness can make a big difference in someone's life and how giving back strengthens our communities.

It was inspiring to watch the boys step up, encourage one another, and willingly use their time and effort to help families they had never met. The gratitude shown by those we served was a reminder that service is about more than completing a task—it's about showing people they are seen, valued, and cared for.

We are incredibly proud of each young man who participated today. They represented The Overflow well through their hard work, positive attitudes, and servant hearts. Days like this remind us that developing character happens not only in the classroom or during lessons, but also through meaningful experiences that allow young people to put their values into action.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this day possible. We look forward to many more opportunities to serve our community together.
