Thank you for planting seeds of purpose! |
Hello friends,
Over the past few months, it’s been incredible to see what’s taking root at The Overflow—and we wanted to take a moment to share a glimpse of what you’ve helped make possible.
We’ve been clearing land and preparing our garden using regenerative practices, laying the foundation for a space that will not only teach stewardship, patience, and responsibility, but also produce fresh, healthy food for our community.
In recent weeks we’ve had the opportunity to host several hands-on workshops, including: • A fishing foundations class at Bass Pro Shop • A fishing workshop at a local pond • Our seed starter program • And an upcoming beehive setup workshop on Saturday, March 28
Each of these experiences is designed to give young men practical skills, hands-on exposure, and meaningful mentorship. One of the most encouraging things we’ve seen is the growing number of male mentors stepping in—showing up, investing time, and walking alongside these young men. This is where real impact happens.
We’re also excited to share that The Overflow is now part of the Work in Burke OPT-IN program for high school seniors, and we’ll be hosting a summer internship program in partnership with them.
As we look ahead to spring and summer, we have many more opportunities planned. We want to sincerely thank you. Your support is what makes all of this possible. Because of you, these programs remain completely free of charge for the young men we serve—many of whom would not otherwise have access to these kinds of experiences, mentorship, and opportunities.
We can’t do this without continued support. If you believe in this work, in these young men, and in what’s being built here, we invite you to continue standing with us. Your generosity creates opportunities for young men to build skills, grow in character, and discover their purpose.
One current need we’d love to share is a van that was generously donated to us by River of Life Church. It needs a few mechanical fixes before it can be safely used. Once ready, this van will be a tremendous asset—allowing us to consistently transport youth to workshops and outings, and to serve families who may not have reliable transportation or whose schedules make participation difficult. If you feel led to support this specific need, we would be incredibly grateful.
Thank you for planting seeds of purpose!
With Appreciation, Jared Harbison, Founder and Executive Director |
